Governor Romney Concedes

You've probably all heard the sad news. If not, here it is. Governor Romney has decided to step aside in his quest to gain the White House in 2008.

Great speech from Romney at CPAC. You could see it in his eyes and in his words that it was hard for him to let it go. I salute him.

McCain was fluff. I never again want to hear McCain call Romney a "flip-flopper", especially with his new found stance on immigration.

Ok, hypothetical question - It won't happen for a lot of reasons, but I pose the question anyway. If Romney was on the ticket with McCain, would you vote for a McCain/Romney ticket?

I don't know if I would or not. It would depend on how the two agreed to run on the same ticket. I wouldn't expect Mitt to compromise on his principles, and I don't think McCain would budge either. It'll never happen though. McCain can't stand Romney and vice versa. They are cut from completely different cloth. Would you be able to vote for a McCain/Romney ticket?

By the way, thanks for your support of Romney. I know it took you a while to come on board, and I admire the time and effort you took to weigh your options among candidates. If only more people had done so, It would've been McCain conceding today...

I think I probably would vote for that ticket if they joined forces. McCain would rely on him for most of the economic advice he can get (which he should). I would prefer that McCain concede on issues to Romney, but that'll never happen.

I admire your choice too and all you could do to get him on that ticket. It is disappointing - hopefully something good will come out of it in 2012. As far as my decision - It doesn't seem like my choices were very popular, haha. At the beginning of all this, it was a toss up between Romney, Giuliani, and Thompson. As time progressed and I did more research, I determined Giuliani really wasn't for me, so he was banished from the list completely. I was able to overlook the "lazy" tag that was branded on Thompson (I didn't think that was fair). However, after weighing all of the issues that mattered, Romney came out on top - Thompson was actually a close second. You see how well that worked out... haha
